Where the Fusion 8 uses warm, thermal plasma to create a targeted healing response through controlled energy, the T33 works entirely differently. It delivers Cold Atmospheric Plasma, a non-thermal technology that interacts with the skin at a cellular level without heat, without surface trauma, and without downtime.

What Is Cold Atmospheric Plasma?

Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) is a partially ionised gas composed of energetic electrons, ions, neutral particles, and reactive species, generated at near-room temperature. Because there is no heat involved, it can interact directly with biological tissue in a way that stimulates and supports without damaging.

This is fundamentally different from thermal plasma devices, which rely on heat-based energy to create a controlled response in the skin. The T33 creates cellular stimulation through chemistry rather than heat, which means there is no surface injury, no ablation, and no recovery period.

How the T33 Works

The T33 glides across the skin, delivering cold plasma energy via a ceramic tip. As the plasma interacts with the skin, it generates reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS), which are bioactive molecules that work on multiple levels simultaneously:

Stimulating fibroblast activity, which drives collagen and elastin production
Regenerating collagen and elastin in the dermal layer for structural skin improvement
Eliminating surface bacteria, making it clinically effective for acne-prone and post-operative skin
Reducing inflammation and calming reactive, sensitised tissue
Creating micro-channels in the skin that allow for significantly deeper product absorption, similar in effect to microneedling but with no pain, no needles, and no downtime

The result is a treatment that improves skin quality at a structural level, creates an optimal environment for healing, and enhances everything else we apply to the skin, all without asking anything of your recovery time.

What We Use It For

The T33 is a versatile complement to our existing treatment offering. We use it for clients and concerns that benefit specifically from its non-thermal, regenerative mechanism:

Scar Support and Post-Operative Skin

Cold atmospheric plasma is particularly well suited to skin that is actively healing. Its antimicrobial properties reduce infection risk in early post-operative tissue, while its anti-inflammatory action calms and supports the healing environment. For clients in our Fresh Scar Protocol, the T33 may be used in sessions where we want to support healing without introducing thermal energy, and it works exceptionally well in combination with the Fusion 8 modalities as the scar matures.

Acne-Prone Skin

The reactive species produced by the T33 are highly effective against the bacteria associated with acne, eliminating surface pathogens without disrupting the skin's natural microbiome. For clients with active acne or persistently congested skin, it offers a non-invasive, no-downtime option that addresses both the bacterial and inflammatory components of the concern.

Skin Rejuvenation Without Downtime

For clients who want genuine structural improvement in skin quality, such as better tone, texture, firmness, and radiance, but cannot accommodate any recovery time, the T33 delivers. A course of cold plasma treatments stimulates collagen and elastin production, improves skin texture and evenness, and produces cumulative improvement that builds over weeks. It suits busy schedules and is appropriate for clients who need results without a healing phase.

Sensitive, Reactive and Compromised Skin

Skin that is inflamed, sensitised, or prone to reacting strongly to treatment responds well to the T33's gentle, non-thermal approach. For clients who are building toward more intensive work, or whose skin needs a period of calming and repair first, the T33 is an excellent starting point. It strengthens the skin's barrier, reduces reactivity, and improves the skin's overall resilience over time.

Scalp Health and Hair Support

Cold atmospheric plasma supports scalp health by improving microcirculation, reducing bacterial and inflammatory burden on the scalp, and creating a healthier environment around the hair follicles. We use the T33 as part of our hair regeneration work, particularly for clients whose scalp health would benefit from support before or alongside Fusion 8 plasma treatments.

Enhanced Product Absorption

The micro-channels created by the T33 dramatically increase the skin's absorption of professional-grade serums, growth factors, and topical treatments applied during or immediately after the session. We use this to our advantage in many treatment combinations. The T33 prepares the skin to receive what follows at a depth that cannot be achieved through the skin's surface alone.

We are often asked how the T33 compares to the Fusion 8, and whether one is better than the other. The honest answer is that they are different tools for different jobs, and having both allows us to offer the right approach for every client and every stage of the journey.

The Fusion 8 uses thermal plasma to create a localised healing response in the skin, stimulating collagen remodelling, contracting tissue, addressing deep pigmentation, and producing structural change that is most powerful for scar revision and significant skin concerns. It works through controlled energy delivery, and some clients experience a healing phase in the days that follow.

The T33 works through chemistry rather than heat. It does not create the same structural change as thermal plasma, but it does create an exceptional healing environment, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and collagen-stimulating, with zero downtime and zero surface trauma. It is ideal as a standalone treatment for sensitive, reactive, or recovering skin, and as a complement to Fusion 8 work for clients on a broader treatment plan.

In many cases, both devices play a role at different stages of the same journey. The right approach for you will come out of your consultation.

What to Expect

T33 treatments are comfortable. There is no numbing required, no heat, and no sensation of injury. Most clients notice a mild tingling and a light electrical scent during treatment, both of which are normal and settle immediately.

There is no downtime. Some clients notice a mild flush in the treated area that settles within an hour or two. You can return to your normal activities the same day, and most clients have no restrictions on what they apply to their skin after treatment.

A course of treatments is recommended for cumulative results. Most clients notice an improvement in skin feel and quality from the first session, with more significant changes in texture, tone, and firmness building over a series.
